***Merry Christmas and Have A Happy & Healthy 2019 Everyone ***
I was still on the 'live-in' with Bobby at the start of December. When that finished I continued working with her for the rest of the month doing my normal hours and ad hoc days and evenings. Over Christmas and New Year I looked after Cookie the cat. She is beautiful and our friendship grew. She brought me dead rat gifts, gave me head bonks when fussing her and grooming her, and then she progressed to sitting on my lap...I felt very honored. Prior to Christmas Day I looked after Pip and Sakura and between Christmas and New Year I saw Benji for an evening. Over New Year as well as Cookie, I looked after James and Daisy and Bobby too.......
This has been my busiest Christmas and New Year, with me working every day from 20th Dec - 3rd January. I feel this is testament to my hard work and trust that builds up during the rest of the year so I do not mind being busy..........now for a few days off Zzzzzzz
Ps - Bobby developed a new ball game in the park whilst on the live-in. She would find a slope and drop her ball, watch it roll down, run after it, bring it back and repeat the process. The other scenario happened in certain sections of the walk, the red hill being one of them. She loved the ball been thrown up the hill, she'd run up and catch it, then lie down and let it go, watch the ball roll down and run after it.

November 1st brought a very unusual sight to Sutton Park...A Bristol TV filming campsite was set up on the Blackroot Car Park. Apparently they were filming for a BBC drama at a mansion house on Ladywood Road, Four Oaks Estate. Bobby and many others were very interested in the unusual activities. Sadly, November 2nd turned out to be my last walk with Oscar and Millie. His pulling damaged my arm, shoulder and back and aggravated my Fibromyalgia. I happily agreed to visit the dogs and spend an hour playing and fussing them until Paul and Clare found a replacement walker :o(
The rest of the month was spent mostly with Bobby, this included a long live-in whilst the owners were away on holiday. I also spent a weekend with little Sakura.

On the 1st October I welcomed Oscar and Millie into my weekly schedule. The owners circumstances have changed meaning the dogs need walking every week. It was great to see then again and we've enjoyed the month together. Oscar is still a very strong dog though, and I am trialing him with an extending lead so he stops pulling me around too much.
I spent my other days with Bobby and also did a sit with Benji and another with Red, Pink and Cole. It was good to see Benji back on form after his operation. The trio, well they are still as nutty as every, the excitement when I arrive is like a whirlwind carrying you through the house to the back door.

September started off with two feeding visits a day for Sally's cats, Fred and Stan. This lasted for just over two weeks. I also had a weekend live-in with Gemma's dog, Sakura and time with her Mum's dog, Pip. I spent an enjoyable day looking after Red, Cole and Pink for John and Kerry, had a live-in with Bobby and then my normal days with her too.

'Hi Kylie, back early hrs of this morning. everything was perfect thanks. Brilliant service & both mogs looked very well looked after. I’ve had lots of cuddles & kisses from them this morning. Will be in touch when I’m next away but no plans as yet. Thanks again! x' .... Sally Jefferies
I was with Fred and Stan for the first few days of August, then had my normal shifts with Bobby, followed by a sit for Karen's dog, Pip. Her litter sister was there for the day too. It was the first time I'd met and sat with Tilley. Over the weekend of 17th-19th (incl) I welcomed new clients Henry and Midas and dog sat for Steve and his family who went to a wedding. It was lovely exploring Red House Park. The month continued to be busy with me spending more days with Bobby which was followed by a weeks live-in with her. Over the same week I also did feeding visits for Pete and his cats, James and Daisy.

'We used Kylie to look after our two dogs Midas and Henry whilst we were away at a family wedding.for the weekend Excellent service and would definitely recommend and we would use Kylie again, 2 very content happy dogs'....... Steven Lowe (Henry & Midas)
I've been quite busy through July with my regular days sitting Bobby and a live-in stay with her. I've also had days with Pip and Sakura, and feeding visits to Fred and Stan. It's been really hot so walking has been limited to earlier or later in the day and in shady areas, avoiding pavements.

'Excellent service. Kylie has looked after my cats twice now when I’ve been away. Photos and updates were sent daily. Both my cats are timid with strangers but they both have warmed to Kylie very quickly. Its very reassuring to know that when I’m away they are being well looked after and getting a daily fuss!' .... Sally Jefferies (Fred & Stan)
Since the start of June my hours have changed with Bobby. Due to the owners circumstances I am now only looking after her on Tuesdays and Thursdays. As a result I have been able to sit for Benji a little more and I have taken on a new client with two cats, Fred and Stan.

Fortunately May has seen some better weather. The park is less boggy and slippery underfoot and I'm no longer getting soaked by rain every day whilst walking. I've been taking part in a new trend that has hit Sutton Park and various other places. It is called Smilestones. The idea is that someone paints a rock to bring a smile to another persons face and then hides it. When you find the rock you choose to keep it or rehide it, but hopefully in the process you will post a picture on the smilestone's facebook page. Its been lovely seeing children actively enjoying the park, and seeing their artwork on the stones. Sadly not everyone posts pictures, so the ones I spot, I photo and post for the creators. They like to see their stones have been found.
I've spent May with Bobby and have done sits for Sakura and Pip too. The Park got interesting for Bobby with the cows being released and she met some horse riders too.

Over the last few months I have been walking Bobby more in the park. On 5th of April Bobby and I spent most of the day in the park. She ran and played with various dogs we have got to know and then we stopped off at the pub with a few of them. Her owner had some photos Of the day and this was the reply:
'Hi Kylie hope weekend goes well just to say thanks so much for minding Bobby (so well!!!) she is so spoilt and better looked after than most kids! Really appreciate it and thanks again to rob for letting you use his car - loved the photos of her sitting side by side with the little brown dog too!'....Avril Regan.
I spent all of April working with Bobby, but had a few days with other clients. I spent a fab day with Red, Cole, Pink and met Esme and I also had an evening sit with Benji. Bobby and I had lots of Park walks and some were with Sasha too.

March started off with a few shifts with Bobby, but then her owner was not well so it left me free. This worked out well as I was then able to support the owners of Red, Cole and Pink. They needed to spend more time at the hospital with their Mum who sadly passed away on the 7th. I was there to look after the dogs, which saved them worrying about coming home every few hours to sort them out. The dogs and I had a lot of play and cuddles.
The rest of March was spent with Bobby and I had a few sits with Pip too.

' It's beautiful to see how much red loves you. She is so funny with people now a days xxxxx transferred your money lovely. Thank you so much, you truly are a god send xxxx '....Kerry McNally
' Thank you Hun, for everything you have done for us this week. Really appreciate everything xxxx'......Kerry McNally
During February I took Bobby on a few walks with Helen and Sasha in the park. I spent almost a week on a 'live in' with Bobby whilst Avril was on holiday and then did my normal days with her for the rest of the month. We had some harsh weather conditions too and I was still walking Bobby in -4C and snow blizzards. There were a couple of other nutters in the park on those days too. I had an evening with Benji too and finished the month by doing a sit for Red, Pink and Cole.
During January I did a few more sits with Pip for Karen. One of these happened to be an emergency drop off. She brought her to Bobby's (with the owners consent) and after about an hour of uncertainty and growling on both parts, and me sat on the floor as a ref, they got on and had a lot of fun chasing each other.
Over the month I was with Bobby as normal, and had some overnight stays too. I also did a lot of park walks with her. I ended up meeting a lovely lady called Helen and her dog Sasha. We are walking together at least once a week and I am helping with Sasha's recall training. It's also been good for the dogs as they love playing and running together.

First sit for Karen & Neil and their puppy 'Pippa' (12 Jan 2018)
Their little French Bull Dog puppy is so cute. We had great fun today and had lots of play and cuddles and even managed a little bit of lead training outside. In the end she fell asleep on me, I didn't have the heart to move her, so I spent most of the visit sat on the floor. I didn't mind, the under-floor heating was nice and toasty :o) |
